The GFSC Scientists Share Research Findings at the World Mycotoxin Forum, 2018

How can science help to further the understanding of mycotoxins, thus helping to improve the safety of our food supply chain? This is one of the key areas under investigation at the Mars Global Food Safety Center. In March ​2018 scientists from the ​​center along with other world leading food and feed safety experts came together to share progress and new ideas at the leading international conference series on mycotoxins- The World Mycotoxin Forum (WMF) in Amsterdam. The team attended to meet with experts, capture the latest knowledge about this food safety grand challenge and share research findings from the mycotoxin research underway within the laboratories at the ​center​.

Beijing, China (Jul. 3, 2017) - Mars Inc. acquired the 'Health Leadership Award' of the sixth 'China Award for Outstanding in Food Safety & Public Health'. This is the first time for Mars to become a winner of this Awards for Outstanding in Food Safety & Public Health in China. Mars Global Food Safety Center Showcased at the China Development Forum 2016 Innovation Expo

The China Development Forum (CDF) was held in Diaoyutai Guesthouse, Beijing, from March 19 to 21, attracting a large number of world leaders, business executives and journalists from Chinese and international media. At the event, Mars showcased its Global Food Safety Center (GFSC) at a bespoke booth at the inaugural CDF 2016 Innovation Expo.


Mars Global Food Safety Center hosted a global symposium to Advance Collaborations in Food Safety Science

One conclusion reached by participants at the symposium including food safety scientists and big data experts was that food safety is too important to be left just to the food safety scientists - it requires an integrated approach.

Expanding global knowledge of food safety management is what our new Global Food Safety Center is all about, so it seems only fitting to celebrate the center’s first big training event.


Mars Opens Global Food Safety Center

McLean, VIRGINIA and Huairou, CHINA (September 24, 2015) – Convening governments, Associates and industry peers, Mars, Incorporated held the grand opening of the Global Food Safety Center in Huairou China on September 24, 2015. A pioneering, $15 million facility, the Mars Global Food Safety Center aims to raise global food safety standards through pre-competitive research and training.
